But, your system might not be integrated with webcam, and your wish to see your friend gets shattered. Now, this won’t be a hindrance anymore, as while chatting with your friend online you just need a symbian smartphone and V.R.C.C. 1.0. It easily configures your phone to be used as a webcam and integrate it to your PC. It’s an integration of two applications, one for each, your smartphone and PC. The configurations of the application are easy to set, and you can enjoy video chat with your friends and family that too without any specific webcam device.

V.R.C.C. 1.0 application is easy to use, and once configured can be used to enjoy video chat. You need to configure the Settings for your smart phone, for Bluetooth port, Internet port, etc. Easily connect or disconnect to start the application for using your phone as webcam. To start the application on PC, you need to click ‘Start’ and choose the required option like Connect over Bluetooth, Connect over Internet, Listen on Internet, Connect to a Broadcast, or Listen for a Broadcast. It also includes the option to Rotate, Focus, and also displays the status. For establishing the connection, you need to enter the Bluetooth, and Internet and Broadcast settings like port device and address. With the Video Settings, you can set the capture size and mode, compression quality, streaming and quality and speed. Further you can select the Camera mode and the Player size. Configuring the applications on smartphone and PC, you start using it as the webcam.

V.R.C.C. 1.0 supports a variety of functions like broadcasting videos in real time from smartphone to PC, performing functions of your mobile phone on your PC like messaging, transmitting data using Bluetooth, CSD, WiFi, GPRS, etc, and many others. V.R.C.C. (Video Remote Computer Camera) is a freeware and open source system that enables your symbian smartphone to be used as a Webcam and lets you control the smartphone from the PC.
The system is comprised of two applications, one for the smartphone and one for the PC that communicate using a protocol over a variety of data transmission methods.
Currently the only phones with UIQ3 interface are supported, however you can vote for features including support for other Symbian platforms.
